Flamenco tablao

This flamenco tablao has presented many top stars over the years. It now caters mainly to the tourist trade, but avoids the fripperies of some coach-party venues.

When my friend show me this first time I was moved. It was amazing experience, as I love every form of dance. I invited my sisters when she visited me last time and I must admit that the level of performance went down, but it`s connected with the fact that the local is under new ownership, I presume. But good thing is that the prices have gone down.

visiting Jaume de Provença….:)

People staying in Barcelona, who can`t live without French cuisine, should visit Jaume de Provença.

Chef Jaume Bargués has developed a well-earned reputation for deliciously original variations on traditional Catalán cuisine blended with southern French cooking.  This cosy little restaurant full of specific climate is a favourite of the King of Spain.

The menu features such dishes as sole stuffed with mushrooms, pigs’ trotters with plums and truffles, or rabbit loins. :)   An extensive wine list covers Spain, France and Catalonia. It`s closed on Monday.

Barca Team! Go!

The city of Barcelona has a very long football tradition! This shouldn’t surprise anybody, as of one of the best teams in the World represents my city: F.C. BARCELONA, known throughout the World as “BARÇA”!!

Football is the national sport in Spain and, obviously, it is very easy for anyone who is staying in Barcelona and who loves football as much I do, to practice his/her favourite sport!

There are many clubs where you can play football in Barcelona, like Catalonia Sports, Meiland, etc. The only thing you have to do is to look for some friends that want to accompany you in this adventure ;) And do you know what the best thing is? - These championships are available for people of all ages! Actually, in the same league, I’ve played against people in their twenties and also in their forties! And another piece of advice, don’t make the same mistake as I did and underestimate people older than you!!!! …Often they are the most experienced and they know all the tricks to beat you! Believe me.

Football teamAnd for all those who don’t enjoy the organized or standard championships so much and who might prefer to enjoy football on their own, you will find many grounds in and around the city…as part of sports centres …or you can always imitate my Brazilian friends and play football at the beach!!

lladro

Thousands of people worldwide collect lladro, and it would be difficult to walk along the streets of any Spanish town without seeing a few pieces for sale.

The perfect gift, so many of their wonderful figures exist - elegant ladies with flower baskets, doves, nurses, elephants, shy women, bulls, card players, beagles … the list is endless.

And this beautiful Spanish porcelain - with its delicate colours, and evoking sentiments that touch the heart - is truly one of Spain´s great success stories.

Yet, as little as 50 years ago, these exquisite collectors´ items had hardly been heard of!

So … how did it all happen? /top-tour-of-spain.com/

The Busker’s Festival…..

It  have been taking music out on to the streets

Sixteen groups have been performing in Barceloneta.

The Busker’s Festival, an international street music festival which is being held for the third time in Barcelona and has been around for over twenty years in Europe.

From Thursday 2 to Sunday 5 August, various locations around Barceloneta will fill to the sound of music. African percussion, reggae, ska, rumba, jazz fusion, tango, bossa-nova, funk and Latin jazz are some of the styles you’ll be able to listen to on the stages that have been put up for the festival.

In all there are 16 groups, with very different styles, who will be out playing on the streets in this corner of Barcelona, between 7 and 10 p.m., according to the organisers.

They include Barnouche, Cris Five, Diguena Voy Bogadé, La Pegatina, La Rumbé, Luz Verde, Jauja Frikestail, Skapatú and Iemanyá Chamito.

Last year the festival, part of the European circuit of street music festivals, attracted over 20,000 people with groups like Che Sudaka and Jaleo Real.
